Damiano Garofalo
Is an Assistant Professor at Sapienza University of Rome, where he teaches Cinema History and Television History. After his MA in Contemporary History at Sapienza, he obtained a Ph.D. in Historical Studies at the University of Padova. Between 2017 and 2019 he worked as a Post-doc at the Research Centre on Television and Audiovisual Media (Certa) at the Catholic University of Milan. His main research interests include the history of early Italian television, the social and cultural history of post-war Italian cinema, the distribution and circulation of Italian audiovisual media abroad. Among his publications, Political Audiences. A Reception History of Early Italian Television (Mimesis International, 2016) and Storia sociale della televisione in Italia (Marsilio, 2018).
